I love limeades in summer, and I really like the cherry limeades from Taco Bell and Sonic. Both use tons of sugar/high fructose corn syrup and I am trying to recreate them at home, using real lime juice and stevia. What to use for the cherry flavoring? Bing cherry juice just doesnt taste right. I believe they use some kind of flavored cherry syrup but I can't find anything similar in the supermarket. Suggestions?

Maybe they use grenadine?
Some health food stores will carry real fruit juices that are condensed, maybe an idea?
We use a black berry one here that is pretty thick without sugar and once it is opened. you need to refrigerate it and use within 10 days.
I think the problem is that what you want is artificial cherry flavor rather than actual cherry flavor, which is quite different... Are you looking for something natural or just something without sugar? If you don't care about it being natural, you could try adding a little bit of cherry kool-aid powder - the kind that comes in a tiny envelope and you mix it with your own sweetener. A tiny bit of that with fresh lime juice and stevia would still be a lot healthier than anything they have at Taco Bell. I'm not sure if there's a natural alternative....
Hey, thanks for the ideas, guys... I did try cherry juice and it didnt have the effect I wanted. I think youre right; I should look for flavor and not juice. Will give the grenadine and maybe the Kool-Aid a try; I don't like the tubes of sugar-free sweeteners that they have at supermarkets, because I avoid anything with artificial sweeteners such as aspartame at all cost, hence the stevia. Will have to look at Kool-Aid ingriedients. I wasnt really looking for something superhealthy or organic or such, just something to flavor it up without artificial sweeteners or lots of sugar and calories. YOu may be right; there might not be a natural alternative. *sighs* oh well, I'll live :)
I haven't seen it, but maybe I am missing it; do they have cherry flavoring or extract that you bake with? Similar I guess to the banana or pineapple flavors usually found in the baking aisle of stores. I havent seen it but maybe someone has?
Yes about extracts for baking, but in Europe, so if they have it Holland to France, maybe some searching.....
This is the syrup we use here in frenchie ville, it does have sugar in it, but you can use less of it, but still get the flavor, and they sell this in the States now.
I did check out their other cherry products, so maybe people's reviews can help out...?
Thanks for the link! Will give the other ideas a try, then maybe check this one out if they don't work.
