I keep reading these posts about (for example):
people feeling guilty for their guilty pleasure of eating a piece of cake secretly.
:)
this is just a friendly reminder that it's okay to eat junk food too.
there are a lot of times that I am a starving (literally)
artist, and so I have to rely upon eating things that aren't exactly healthy
(such as fast food or lots of processed crap)
and I found that when I feel guilty for eating it, is when I really feel bad from it later.
But it is FOOD, and it feeds my tummy when I am full, gives me energy, and keeps me going.
And for that, I am greatful.
I think people should enjoy what they eat more often, and again, this is just a reminder to keep a healthy balance and a healthy paradigm of the food we eat! Not trying to put anyone down for their admirable healthy lifestyles choices.
for a minute there, I was beginning to get sad because people were talking about p.nut butter being healthy and I was like
yes! finally something in this house that is actually GOOD for you! (not just neutral or unhealthy) but then she was like
but not really that JIFFY stuff. I was like poop. cuz it is jiffy...lolz...
I know a lot of times I enjoy a delicious, juicy hamburger with lots of fries!!!
and a lot of times I do feel guilty for not being able to eat better for my body, but I have learned to enjoy it when I must,
rather than seeing this disgusting greasy slab of dead meat that is put there by corporations to poison my body,
I thank the heavens for puting this delicious hamburger in front of me that im going to EAT!!!
and that I am no longer hungry, and consider the positive nutritional values of what I am eating.
It makes me feel a lot better, and my body procecess the food better
Thank you good night we love you all!!!

Re: Just a reminder
Thu, April 24, 2008 - 1:49 PMThe odd thing about it is once I started eating more fruits and less sugar regularly, I found that I get a lot of enjoyment from eating fruit.
And when I've really cut down on my sugar intake, I find that eating sugar gives me indigestion.
So I have multiple levels of meanings when I say "naughty foods." Not just what the doctors and nutritionists tell me, but also what my own body tells me.
My body also like pork better than it likes beef. -

Bravo, bravo, bravo--I agree 100%!
I too try really really hard to eat healthy but sometimes I just HAVE to have a big ole greasy cheeseburger with fries...
or ice cream...or something else that I know has little or no nutritional value.
And no, I don't feel guilty about it.
Heck, lately I have been feeling more guilty over drinking too much than anything I have been eating!!!
Also, since I have tried to limit the # greasy cheeseburgers to a place that has really really good burgers-ie: quality meat, homebaked buns etc.etc. I have found out that if I do hit MIckey Ds or the King that I feel like crap after eating. -

so true, every single time. In-and-Out is SO much better, but not every place has them. I am very lucky to live in SF where you can get the freshest most delicious food as options.
