    <summary type="html">Guys, I gave up having smoothies for breakfast a while ago cause I would feel hungry not so long after, so I went back to a whole grain bread and green tea BUT I am so glad I had one avocado left from the ones I usually make as some sort of guac (my little girl eat a guacamole or purreed avocado every single week), so anyway, I had one avocado left, two oranges, a peach so I decided to make a smoothie out of them, added some coconut milk, a bit of applesauce and a dash of raw agave nectar and OH MY!!!&#xD;
Not only was it sooo yummmyyyy but I just couldn't believe it, 3 hours later I was not hungry yet which is a first after breakfast!!!&#xD;
This is a winner you guys, I'd say the avocado and the coconut milk have lots to do with that, I was satisfied for a long time!!!&#xD;

    <summary type="html">Actually, this is avocado season and my two trees are loaded.  Avocados and citrus have the same season.     <summary type="html">I work in a produce department and we sell these. They are large green skinned avocados from Florida. They do taste a bit different,. They have a fruitier, sweetish taste and a bit more water to them. Some people LOVE them, some dont like them at all. I think they are fine. They have less fat, so they dont have the rich taste you get with a haas.&#xD;
 I recommend using them as guacamole, or in stuff like sandwiches, salads. They work  the best that way.&#xD;
 If you seem them, try them!Many people really do like them better.</summary>

My favorite avocado treat is to cut it onto pieces and put it on a cracker like cheese and have white wine with it. It's the best hot summer sitting outside snack. We put lots of different things on the avaoado slices. I like lime juice and pepper best. But there is nothing wrong with a little salt or just having it plain. yummy yum yum</summary>

    <summary type="html">i work with children and read _how to get your kid to eat, but not too much_ - dont be put off by the title, the author, a dietician and mother of 3, is really a wonderful mother.  her basic rules have helped me with feeding times, and i think she's got great guidelines.&#xD;
as for your children, the basic rule is to just offer the food frequently and dont have any reaction to whether they eat it or not.  you serve it, they choose what to eat.  eventually it will become normal and familiar and they will eat it because that is what their family eats.&#xD;
at every meal have one food you know for sure they will always eat (ie bread, crackers, etc) and milk, then offer 3 or so items for a balanced meal and know that you did your job.  i'd try just one new or uncomfortable food for them at a time.  &#xD;
it can be tough to see them reject food, i think that's a primal urge, it pushes mothers' (and my) buttons.  but if you need more info on feeding your kids, i highly recommend finding this book.&#xD;
ive seen it work - even with a child who did not eat.</summary>

Ingredients:&#xD;
&#xD;
Good Baguette, preferably sourdough&#xD;
Bacon (I think the peppered kind is delish)&#xD;
Avocado&#xD;
Mozzarella, grated or sliced&#xD;
&#xD;
Fry up bacon, and put shredded or sliced mozzarella on the bread. Broil the bread/cheese in the oven so the cheese is crisp and speckled with brown on top and gooey underneath. Cut up or mash avocado and put it in on the bread and cheese with the fried bacon.&#xD;
&#xD;
Not the most healthy food in the world, but the crispy/salty/doughy/avocadoey textures and tastes are wonderful. And the whole thing is simple to make.&#xD;

I have halfed them and put a good dab of almond butter with dulse flakes and cayanne. spoon it out. I know it sounds weird - but really good. I was really into it when I went on a raw diet for awhile.&#xD;

I use them in place of crean cheese on bagels; in place of mayo on sandwiches...&#xD;

btw - they shouldn't be in the fridge.  Leave them out like oranges or bananas.  Also, if your avo isn't quite ripe put it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds then let it sit for a few minutes....and viola! (almost) instant ripe avo!</summary>

Avocado Soup With JosefinaRecipeView.comYield: 6 Servings &#xD;
&#xD;
1 LB Hass avocados, chopped&#xD;
1 cup fresh orange juice&#xD;
&#xD;
2 Tbl cilantro leaves, Chopped&#xD;
1/4 cup tequila, preferably aged&#xD;
&#xD;
6 cups chicken stock, chilled&#xD;
Coarse salt, to taste&#xD;
&#xD;
1 serrano (or jalapeno pepper ),&#xD;
1/2 Tsp orange zest, Grated&#xD;
&#xD;
-seeded, veined,&#xD;
1 watermelon&#xD;
&#xD;
and, Minced&#xD;
&#xD;
In a blender, combine avocado, cilantro, 3/4 cup chicken stock, serrano or jalapeno pepper. Add orange juice, tequila, salt, zest, and remaining chicken stock. Blend until smooth, in two batches if necessary. Strain through a sieve. &#xD;
Cut watermelon in half crosswise and hollow out, forming a tureen. Seed watermelon and cut into 1/2-inch cubes. Pour soup into watermelon and garnish with watermelon cubes, reserving remaining watermelon for another use. &#xD;
Makes 6 servings.</summary>

    <summary type="html">I hated avocado until I was about 20, at which point I did a complete turn-around and fell in love.  Actually, a lot of my favorite foods now I didn't like til I was ~20 - avocado, olives, swiss cheese, tomatoes, coffee.  But as for the 3yo and the avo, my guess is it's the texture.  Best just to let him/her go.  (S)he'll come around eventually, and in the meantime, more avocado for you!  If you're really set on trying to get some avocado into your kiddo, you can make a "milkshake" with avocado, yogurt, honey, and strawberries.  Yum!&#xD;

My personal favorite way of eating ripe avocado I learned from my mom: sprinkle with a little seasoned salt and a couple drops of vinegar and eat with a spoon, or for a more substantial snack, cut into chunks and spoon over brown rice.  Drool.</summary>

I know they're loads of healthy, but also they're loads of fat. Does anyone have good info on the fats in avocados? As in, what kinds they are and whether I should be eating so much of them?</summary>
