Yes! Kombucha tea! it is THE BEST for helping you fast. drank over time, it moisturizes and clears the skin.

you are welcome. you will never regret brewing your own. "Ball" makes a 2 gallon canning jar. i use that for brewing. then i can drink as much as i want. And IBS is benefited by this, with some people too. 20% of B vitamins. unsic acid.

you can just get a bottle of plain GT's original, drink half of it, and put some sugar in the bottle, and lightly cap it back up, and keep in a warm and dark place for a week or two. a new baby scoby will have formed in it, and you can step it up, jar size at a time, until you get it large size.

              oh. hee hee.

you breed a fungus that floats on top of the tea, you name it, it eats the tea, and carbonizes it in the process. so when you get good, it is fizzy and fun like soda pop

my fungus is named harold this season

Kombucha make me ill, but then my body does not like some fungus, having and Candida albacans My Aunt was dong it, so tried it too, basically one is drinking the by products of a fungus of a mold, not sure how good or tasty that sounds, now that that I think about it.

I prefer to fast with say pineapple or orange juice or for more cleansing action, lemon, made into a lemon aid.

For herbal teas, anything that taste good, like peppermint, but for real action, any herb noted for toxin, colon and liver cleansing, even parasites.

yep i bought a couple (Dr. Stuart's: extraordinarily good teas - active botanicals TM) teas today.. one for detox: dandelion root, burdock root, corn silk (?), milk thistle, bearberry leaves, liqourice root, peppermint, spearmint, ginger root, sage, galangal root and artichoke leaves
and beautifying skin purify (couldn't resist ;D): red clover, nettle leaves, dandelion leaves, burdock root, chamomile, lemon balm, lemon peel and natural lemon flavour.
the directions said to brew 4-5 minutes to allow the active botanicals time to release their essential oils - the box says it offers 'the highest essential oil content possible in a packaged tea'!

i'm looking forward to trying out this kombucha mix although i do wonder if the carbonated/fizzy/byproduct part will go ok.. i never drink mineral water or softdrinks; i'm possibly sensitive cos i have a lot of vata i dunno.. but the fungus and mold really do turn me on :D i love drinking spirulina and imagining it's swamp water heheh i must have been a toad in my past life..

I just have to point out here that kombucha is not "fungus and mold", it is a symbiotic culture of *bacteria* and yeast. If you're growing mold on your kombucha, you need to throw it out!

none the less, the directions for making it are still the same.

Cali, there is a kombucha tribe.
i call it a fungus because explaining the phyla that create the symbiosis, is usually boring or not understandable, to someone that just wants to drink it.

Haha! It took me a second too, to relate this to the thread <g>.

I would totally consider myself a Slow Tea person, though, as I'm all about the ceremony, and the "agony of the leaves" and the proper warming of pots, etc.. Drinking a lovely Muscat scented black this morning, and doing it VERY slowly ; ).
