Re: Lunch
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 10:09 AMFor some reason I ALWAYS get really really hungry around 10-10:30am. and if I happen not to have enough snacks on hand then I will eat my lunch as "brunch". The only problem with that is then I get hungry around 2 or 3....and so the cycle continues. -

Re: Lunch
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 10:31 AMI purposely eat a snack at 10:30-11:00, then I eat "lunch" at 1:00-1:30, then I snack again between 3 and 4. That way all of my meals can be smaller than if I tried just having 3.

Re: Lunch
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 10:53 AMHappens all the time to me since I just keep my lunch at my desk. Sometimes it's unbearable and I go for it and then buy something in the afternoon, not ideal, but I can't help it! ;) -

Re: Lunch

Re: Lunch
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 11:59 AMit depends on what i have for breakfast...oatmeal fills you up... but then leaves all of a sudden and makes me hungry... i've taken to a two part mini breakfast - yogurt and oatmeal spaced about an hour apart... -

Re: Lunch
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 12:11 PMThat happens to me too! I basically have to force feed myself most mornings, and then I'm *starving* around 9:30-10 or so. I usually have the discipline to stay hungry until lunch time, but if a coworker brings in donuts or something, its all over. Coworkers are evil. ;-) -

Re: Lunch
Thu, May 8, 2008 - 2:26 PMI have to force myself to eat breakfast-- I am so not a morning person. This week I brought in frozen mixed beries and non-fat milk to make morning smoothies at work. Today was broccoli soup made on Tuesday. It's been a broccoli and berries sort of week! -

Re: Lunch
Fri, May 9, 2008 - 9:41 AMi have the same problem no matter what i eat for breakfast...i can eat two eggs with cheese, tomatoes and salsa on a wrap or a peanut butter and banana sandwich or whatever for breakfast and still be starving at 11 or so...my solution is to keep some nuts on hand for munching on in between...whatever you like..i like a mix as i like the variety...OR i'll have a banana or a cup of yogurt inbetween...don't go for the donuts or the junk...nourish yourself with something you enjoy and easy to carry to work... -

Fri, May 9, 2008 - 8:03 PMMy manager brought in a HUGE chocolate cake, some fruits and chocolate, and veggies with dip today for nurse appreciation week. I told her that if I ate all that stuff, there'd be more nurse for her to appreciate. :-)

Re: Lunch
Sat, May 10, 2008 - 3:24 AMMmmm your lunch sounds niiiice **drools** lol
I have the problem in that when I get up early on a weekday I hate hate hate eating breakfast. I just don't really do breakfast - I don't feel awake enough for it. If I force myself I usually feel a bit sick, and then just feel hungrier before lunch - even if I've had a snack around 11!
I also think that wanting your lunch earlier comes from if you're sitting down not being active. If you're in an office or college or whatever, and you feel bored or tired, and your mind goes off on a tangent (like mine usually does!) then you will start thinking about food to curb your boredom or whatever annoying emotion you have.....its a slippery slope, as they say!
Best way to stop this is make sure you put enough distractions in your way to stop yourself dipping into that box or hearty goodness.....mmm....arghhh nevermind *eats entire lunch**. XD
