I don't know what originally possessed me to try this, but it was FANtastic!

1/2 cup oatmeal (I use quick-cooking rolled oats)
1/4 - 1/3 scoop Slim Fast vanilla powder (didn't quite measure it)
salt, other spices to taste
"dribble" milk
Boiling water

I always sprinkle in some salt, nutmeg and cinnamon, since this is not pre-packaged oatmeal I'm using. I usually just put boiling water in the gladware and seal it. This time, since I was adding the Slim Fast powder I used some milk too.

Mix oatmeal and spices, add Slim Fast powder. Dribble in the milk and stir lightly. Pour in boiling water, put lid on but do not seal completely. Microwave for about 20 seconds. Remove from microwave, stir. Seal for about 3-4 minutes to make sure oatmeal is fully cooked.

It tastes sooo good. It smells like an expensive vanilla chai latte, but it's oatmeal. You can use all of your preferred spices to flavor it however you want. It loses the "fake" Slim Fast flavor, for those who know what I'm talking about and don't like that. It's very satisfying, easy to make – even at work – and it travels easily, as long as the dry goods are already mixed. Though I suppose if you don't mind cold oatmeal, it travels pretty well once it's fully made, too.

I always add cinnamon and a pinch of dried cannabis shake to my oats.(does nothing to get one high, it's just such a dank flavor) sometimes ground flax, too.
    divine.

This sounds close to my child hood breakfast:
1/2 cup dry oats, cooked in 1 cup water, 5 minutes,
In the bowl: cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, allspice, too much brown sugar and a little bit of real butter.

I've tried to cut out the butter and sugar, to no avail. I guess that's why I'm here.
